When You See Yourself, the latest Kings of Leon on vinyl - New vinyl releases

Published by SwapRecords on 14/03/2021

Kings of Leon, who had a worldwide success with their album Only By The Night in 2008 - we remember their tracks Sex On Fire, Use Somebody or Notion - are back with an 8th album, after the releases of Mechanic Bull in 2013 and WALLS in 2016. And yes, the 3 brothers Nathan, Caleb, Jared and their cousin Matthew Followill have been together since 1999! More progressive rock in the harmonies than the previous ones, When You See Yourself is a success, and so much the better, as the critics were eagerly awaiting the release of this new opus. Especially with Kings of Leon, what we appreciate so much is the musical consistency since the beginning, maintaining similar drums and guitar riffs, but evolving their style in details, in new sounds that make the trademark of a new album.

When you see yourself, are you far away?

The album starts with the song When You See Yourself, Are You Far Away, the first part of which gives the name of the album. The most advanced one musically, with elaborate arrangements, a deep piano in the background, a rhythmic progression at the end, guitars with penetrating echoes that give a feeling of inner research, of existential questioning. The band has certainly been very touched by the current situation and this can be heard on the album. The second song The Bandit is 100% Kings of Leon, and you can't get enough of it! With 11 tracks, When You See Yourself is an accomplished album, with a great maturity from the Nashville musicians. A kind of plenitude emerges from it, a mastery of their instruments and acoustics. SwapRecord's editorial team recommends it to you without moderation!
